OVERVIEW

Join us for a special Winter Solstice gathering at Green Campus Delta — a time to tune into the love behind everything, reflect, and realign a community of people inspired by The Dhamma. Together, we’ll honour the longest night and the returning of the light, setting meaningful intentions to rise with the sap and move in rhythm with nature.

Guided by the same heartfelt team from Weekend 3 (which had hugely successful reviews - see BookRetreats.com link above), alongside new collaborator Vegan Chef Davide Nuñez, with whom we’ve already shared some beautiful projects, the retreat offers a steady rhythm of Dhamma practice, daily guided meditation, and a rich variety of grounding yoga sessions led by the deeply experienced and qualified Larthia.

Seasonal plant-based meals, crafted with homegrown and wild-foraged ingredients (you will be included in the foraging) with Davide and Ksenia, invite us into deeper connection with the land and the cycles and patturns of energy that sustain life. Whether joining for foraging walks or resting into the sanctuary of Delta — with optional yoga and meditation sessions four times a day (each), wild sea swims, sauna rituals, hot tub overlooking the waves, or time around the fire inside overlooking the water, or on the beach — this retreat offers a space to reconnect with yourself, nature, and community.

For those who feel called, we will also be making an optional pilgrimage to Stonehenge on the Solstice (Sunday) night (subject to attendance and weather) to attune more deeply to the universally harmonic frequencies available through our ancestors’ temple to the eternal constants — a chance to stand in silence among the stones with soft minds, steady hearts, and nervous systems open to the song behind all things. This is an invitation to live more consciously, to walk in compassion, and to co-create a future rooted in Dhamma, loving presence, and harmony with the Earth that brought us forth.

The bathroom is shared with the adjoining twin room, but it is incredibly large with five cupboards, a vast heated mirror, a floor, a separate glass shower, and a very large tub! We try to put three women sharing this suite across the two rooms wherever possible.

The room is accessed by a sound-isolating hallway off the downstairs living room that provides extensive sofas, comfy armchairs, and an entertainment system built into the ceiling and walls. LOCAL INFORMATION

Seasonal information

The winter months have the sun rising and setting in the sea in front of the house and while it can be a roaring storm outside, the triple-glazed south-facing glass walls make the greatest light show of the sun rolling across the vast horizon through the silver clouds and over the wild seas.

Having the Hottun and Sauna means that we spend a lot of time in our swimwear even in the winter and when the sun is out the rooms all need windows open because they cook! At night we stay cozy by the fires but they are a luxury, the building has underfloor heating in every room that can be controlled in each room. There is an air source heat pump that makes the building incredibly economical to heat so it stays pretty toasty while people are here.

Even if it is pouring outside awnings are covering the walks between the yoga studio, the main house (where participants stay), and even the staff cottage at the end of the drive where the course leaders stay.

It's much quieter in winter than summer which is a relief as hundreds of thousands of people come down to the beach and it can make traffic unbearable unless you know the back routes.

Weather information

You need layers! Warm layers so you can go from your fit kit in the yoga studio to something that you would be happy to walk in the wind along the beach. Jumpers, windbreaks, wooly hats, gloves if you get cold, welly boots. We have bathroom and beach towells, hand and face towells and will replenish these at good interval but do recommend that people bring dressing gowns and slippers as these tend to all get pinched when we supply them!

Tips for responsible tourism and respecting local culture

We need to keep noise levels down here in the week as it is a residence but if we are respectful to the community they are very respectful of us and it is a polite area, not snooty, just people expect good manners and are very polite in general.
